Friday Meeting at the Radisson

This week our meeting is at the Radisson Utica Centre on Genesee Street. November is Foundation Month in the Rotary world, and we are fortunate to have a home grown Rotary leader to give us the latest goals and challenges faced by your Rotary Foundation. PDG Don Reese has traveled the world representing Rotary, and is an officer at the Rotary Zone level. He is Past President of our club, has served his district as governor, district trainer, GSE district chair... you get the idea.

Please come to the Radission this Friday for some frank talk about the foundation of our organization.

Turkey Day Volunteers Needed

This is the 31st year of the Community Thanksgiving Dinner, originally established by First Presbyterian Church of Utica and the Uptown Neighborhood Resource Coalition. Thanksgiving has been made a bit more enjoyable for as many as 1000 people because area organizations have donated time, supplies and money to this Thanksgiving tradition.

Utica Rotarians have delivered Thanksgiving dinners to the homebound since the beginning of this project, and PP Don St Louis has been the coordinator of Utica Rotary volunteers for as long as we have participated.

Drivers are needed beginning at 10:15 am on Thanksgiving Day. Click here to email PP Don to let him know that you will help out. Of course, family members are also welcome to lend a hand.

After so many years leading this project, PP Don would like to pass the torch to another club member to coordinate Rotary volunteers in future years. If you are interested, please let Don know.

Your Service Fund Dollars Hard at Work

Dear Rotraians:

Everyone had a great time at the picnic/tailgate party. What a terrific way to end the season. It was disappointing to cancel the fishing trip because of the weather, but the fun that the children and parents had at the picnic more than made up for it. There were over 70 people that participated. I am so glad that you Rotarians had a chance to see our Outreach and Prevention program at work. Families and staff eagerly anticipate these fun events with the Rotary.

Thank you once again Utica Rotary for making these activities possible.
