A Chance (Actually Two!) to Meet our Guests from Japan

The Group Study Exchange team from Rotary District 2640, Osaka, Japan, has arrived, and will be hosted by Utica Rotary until they travel to the District Conference on Friday. The team is pictured above with D2640 District Governor Murakami Yuji in the foreground. From left to right they are Akiyo Aibata, the Head Administrator at an English education school, Yuka Sunano, a beauty salon owner/operator, Miwako Minami, team leader and a member of the Rotary Club of Wakayama Southeast, Kagumi Yoshida, an office worker at Mitsubishi UFJ Securities Company, and Marie Ohara, an accountant who works in her family business.

Utica Rotarians will have two opportunities this week to meet the team and experience their program. On Tuesday evening they will be presenting at the North Utica/Whitestown club in the Blue Flag Room at Union Station in Utica. The Sauquoit club will host the team on Wednesday evening at Orchard Hall in Sauquoit. Both meetings begin at 6:00 pm.

THERE IS NO UTICA ROTARY CLUB MEETING THIS FRIDAY!! Club members are encouraged to attend either the Tuesday or Wednesday evening meetings listed above to meet this dynamic group of young professionals from Japan.

We thank GSE Chair PE Jim Turnbull for attending to all the details of the team's stay with us this week. Please fit one of these meetings into your schedule.

Honor Someone Who Goes The Extra Mile

The Pride of Workmanship award was created by Rotarians in Australia, and was brought to this country by members of the Moravia Rotary Club. Utica Rotary was the second US club to present the awards, and has done so for the past 18 years.
