ARC Camp Gets Boost from Amy and Crew

We had a great turnout on Tuesday June 16th to spruce up the ARC camp on Hacadam Road. Helpers were treated to a dinner of hamburgers, hot dogs, salads, drinks and cookies for dessert. Make no mistake, this crew worked for its supper!

From Utica Rotary we had new member Carlton Corey, Joe Skane, President Lou Steppello, President Elect Greg Benincasa, Jeff Jones, JoElyn Wakefield Wright, Angela VanDerhoof, Steve Gassner and his son Steven, yours truly Amy Mielnicki and two of my kids, Hayley and Abbey, and Angela's granddaughter's friend Matthew Burke.

From North Utica we had Rotary bowling ace Tom Acey and his wife Mary (our chefs for the event), Frank Gruenwald, Herb Sipp, Dick Briggs and his son Craig Briggs, Bob Payne, Yvonne McCluskey, Marc McCluskey and George Penree.

We also had another non Rotarian volunteers. Dave Harris, who both sides were trying to recruit, lent a hand, along with Captain Frank Picciotto from the Salvation Army. Does either of these gentlemen have a Rotary membership in his future?

Thanks to all the volunteers who proved the time worn adage that "many hands make light work".

LOUUUU THROUUUUUGH?

This Friday marks the 52nd meeting of this Rotary year, and is the Swan Song of our president for 2008-09, Lou Steppello. Please join your fellow Utica Rotarians at Twin Ponds this Friday for the Lou Year in Review. Our club has much to be proud of, and this has been a special year with Lou at the helm and Larry Calabrese leading the district.
We'll see you at Twin Ponds for what is certain to be an outstanding address by our outgoing president.
