Eight Recognized as Outstanding Educators

Teachers from eight area schools received awards during the Outstanding Educator luncheon, presented by the Youth Services committee of Utica Rotary. In the 28 years of this program more than 750 area students have joined us at Friday Rotary meetings, learning about our club and its projects, and breaking bread with professionals in their fields of interest. The students are asked to select the Outstanding Educator from their school, and over the years more than 200 awards have been presented.

We thank Catherine McEnroe and her committee (22 Rotarians strong!!) for a spirited and sometimes emotional program, and a great year of Youth Services to our area schools.

New dad and Paul Harris Fellow Bob Mortis is our club's Program Chair for the 2009-10 Rotary year, and welcomes member suggestions for Friday programs. No club in our central NY district can match Utica Rotary for the quality of its programming, and Bob and his team are preparing a schedule to continue that tradition.
