Last Call for Food Bank Donations

PP Dave Jones remins us that this Friday is our final collection of household cleaning supplies and toiletries, to benefit the clients of the Food Bank. PP Dave challenges each member to bring one item: Ex: A new toothbrush, 1 bar of soap, deodorant, 1 roll of toilet tissue, 1 box of Kleenex, 1 roll of paper towels. This is a small thing that you can do to make life a bit easier for someone in need. Put the stuff in your car today!!

YE Students Spin for Missing Children

Under the leadership of Tom Matt (son of Utica Rotarian Pam Matt and future outbound exchange student), a group of Rotary Youth Exchange students recently participated in a 24 Spinning class to raise money for the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. No, veteran anglers, spinning does not involve a rod and reel, it is an intense workout on a stationary bike. Such were Tom's skills as a peddler that he even convinced some of the "old folks" to take a spin, including PPs Dave Jones and Dana Jerrard, and Dave Griffith, who liked it so much that he signed up for a two hour hitch. Utica Rotarian Maria Pavelock got our teams off to an energetic start by spinning for the first hour.

Pam and Tom spent 20 of the 24 hours at the event, riding bikes and cheering on our volunteers. All told, the team raised more than $600 for the Center. Great work, Tom, Pam and our exchange students!
