Our YE Students Brush Up on Service Projects

David (Taiwan) and Saam (Thailand) helped the Underground Caf with a painting project Friday after school. Under the direction of PP Jack Altdoerffer, the crew painted three walls of their new coffee Caf room. The paint was paid for by Rotary's Urban Concerns Committee through your Service Fund pledge, and Saam and David painted from 3 until 5:30 to help with the project.

The Underground Caf is located on the third floor of the back portion of the Westminster Presbyterian Church Located in downtown Utica. The entrance is located across from City Hall near the Radisson parking garage.

Poet Laureate Tickets on Sale This Friday

The 15th annual Utica Rotary Poet Laureate Contest is set for Thursday evening, February 26 beginning at 6:00 pm at the Fort Schuyler Club. Reigning Laureate Norma Montagnino-Gemza stands ready to defend her title against "any and all contenders and pretenders." Your $33 ticket includes a feast prepared by Jim Day and the FSC staff, musical entertainment by local keyboard legend Carleton "Knuckles" Boone, and the poetry and high jinks co-hosted by Mary Lou Reape and Dana Jerrard.

Tickets will be available starting this Friday at Twin Ponds. You may also click here to email your ticket request to PP Dana.
