Guests Arrive Friday From Brazil
A team of four young professionals and a Rotarian leader will be arriving in our area this Friday for the first week of their Group Study Exchange. The team is from District 4750, located in eastern Brazil.Jim Turnbull and Utica Rotary's GSE committee have a busy week laid out for our guests. After a weekend of settling in with host families (and catching the Aretha Franklin show), the team will spend Monday touring local businesses and receiving an official welcome from Utica mayor David Roefaro. They will finish the day sampling the products of one of our most successful area businesses, located in the Brewery District.
Tuesday will find the team in Rome for a tour of Fort Stanwix and a meeting of Rome Rotary. Wednesday is vocational day, when the group will split for individual tours related to specific vocations.
Thursday will be spent in the largest state park in the USA. A trip to the Adirondack Museum and a boat tour of the Fulton chain are planned. On Friday the team will head to Alexandria Bay for the first day of DG Larry Calabrese's District Conference.
We thank Jim and his team for the many hours of planning and effort necessary to host a GSE team. If their flight is on time, you will get a chance to meet them informally at Twin Ponds this Friday.
