A Month in Review from President Lou

One month down and 11 to go. Three interesting and educational programs kicked off the 08-09 year.

Our annual Boilermaker update provided us a different insight of our world class and local runners. Thirty plus years of a community pulling together to Make a Dream A Reality.

District 7150 has provided us a DG with a vision and blueprint to MAKE DREAMS REAL. With our time, talent and treasure we can participate in succeeding in meeting the goals of DG Calabrese. Member participation is essential to meet these goals put before us in the areas of Foundation-membership/retention-health-hunger-literacy - polio. Contact a committee chair to provide your expertise in an area of interest. Reminder the MOST important person in Rotary is the person we SERVE. Don't be a RINO- Rotarian in name only

The third meeting proved that by using the expertise of our members-new and seasoned- we can take our club to the next level. Our web site was given a new look. Even with the updates - it is easy enough for a novice like me to use??? Check it out!!!! We plan on reviewing the revised site with the Board for confidentiality.

Meetings to start at 12:25 and finish at 1:15. Finish time is flexible-depends on program. I will do my best to advise if meeting will run over. We will close the meeting with the Four Way Test.

A committee chair will be selected each week to provide an overview of his/her program, its needs and status. This will give our members the ability to be proactive in using their time talent and treasure to assist in a committee.
Lets keep stressing attendance to our Rotary members!!!!!

DON'T LET YESTERDAY TAKE UP TOO MUCH OF TODAY

HAVE A SAFE AND A HAPPY - Lou Step

Welcome, Bill Garrett

The first new member of this Rotary year was introduced last Friday by Nick Ide. Bill Garrett joins us from the Lehigh Valley of Pa. to become the CEO of the Revolutionary Trails Council, Boy Scouts of America. PP Larry Golden points out that Bill is the latest of the best and the brightest from central Pa. to move to the Mohawk Valley. Rotarians Phil Hayne and Herb Freeman also have made career stops in the Lehigh Valley.

Bill's sponsor is DG Larry Calabrese, who is walking the talk of membership growth. If a guy with Larry's schedule can take the time to sponsor a new member, surely we all can do our part to keep our club moving forward.

Bill has settled in to a home in the third largest city in Oneida County with his wife Sheila and daughter Katie. Please welcome him to our club.
