About
The Rotary Club of Utica
The
Rotary Club of Utica meets once a week from 12:30 to 1:30
p.m., at the Twin Ponds Golf & Country Club, 169 Main Street,
New York Mills. An optional buffet lunch is available starting at
noon, 30 minutes prior to the official meeting. The
weekly meetings give us an opportunity to talk about upcoming community
and club projects, news and club matters. We also enjoy a weekly
program where guests speak on a variety of subjects.
Guest
speakers that we have recently had the opportunity to welcome
include an NYPD emergency responder involved in the 911 rescue effort,
a former NFL player talking about NFL secrets to leadership success,
a debate between Mike Arcuri and Ray Meier during the election campaign,
performances from acclaimed international young musicians, and the
list goes on and on. Your Friday lunchtimes will never be the same

Community
projects that we are currently working on or have recently
completed include building a weather station in the courtyard of
Columbus school, reading to schoolchildren as part of our Early
Act Program, raising money to construct a pavilion at the Utica
Zoo, presenting a Christmas celebration for the ARC, and hosting
a food drive, a clothing drive, the Rotary International youth exchange
program, our student mentoring program, our area teacher of the
year awards and more.

Have
fun while helping others. The Rotary Club of Utica has
many social opportunities outside our regular meetings. There are
a variety of social events and parties throughout the year, you
can join our tennis and bowling leagues, and you can meet new people
by volunteering for a project where you can help the community and
make a difference.
How
to Join
Becoming a member
is easy. In order to become a member, you need a sponsor, and there’s
two easy ways to get a sponsor:
Talk to a member you already know. Take a look
at our List of Members. With as many members
as we have, you probably know one of them already. If so, send them
an email or give them a call and tell them you want in.
Or,
email one of our New Member contacts. If you don’t
know anyone on the list, then we have four current members waiting
to make new friends.
Email any of them, letting them know you want in. They’ll be happy
to get the ball rolling.

What
is Rotary?
Rotary is the world’s oldest service club organization. It’s
made up of more than 32,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries
and geographical areas. The members of these autonomous clubs are
called Rotarians, and they form a global network of 1.2 million
business and professional leaders, all volunteering their time and
talents to serve their communities and the world. Individual Rotary
clubs, in turn, belong to the global association Rotary International.
