Amy Mielnicki and her band of Utica Rotary
elves are preparing for the event of the season
for our club. The Special Needs Christmas party
is set for this Friday, December 7 at the MVCC
College Center.
This year marks the 37th annual incarnation of
this event. It is the longest continuous service
project of our club, and over the years it is
estimated that we have served more than 10,000
meals, distributed a one mile string of
candy canes, and participated in several dozen
versions of the Chicken Dance.
Setup for the event will take place in the
afternoon, just a few hours after our meeting at
Twin Ponds. Volunteers are needed from setup to
cleanup (from about 4:00 pm to around 9:30 pm.),
and there is still time to join the fun.
See Amy or PE Lou Steppello at our
meeting this Friday to find the best way to make
your contribution.

A new feature this year will be a pick up at the Oxbow Inn* as
well as the regular stops in Clinton, New Hartford, and
Barneveld.

this great day of sport, grub, grog and
Rotary fellowship.

This Annual Volunteer
Opportunity Should Ring a Bell
Each year Utica Rotarians ring the bells for
the annual Salvation Army holiday
solicitation. Our day to man the kettle
(sorry, PP Georgiana,..."person the kettle")
is Saturday, December 22 at Sangertown Mall.
Jeff Jones is coordinating our
volunteers, and will have signup lists at
our next three meetings.
