Demining
Mission to SE Asia for PP Dave
Many Rotarians and friends of Utica Rotary supported our
landmine removal fundraiser in April. Through a
partnership with the HALO project, several other Rotary
clubs (chief among them the Seattle Club) and the US
State Department, our club was able to generate more
than $23,000 of the $65,000 raised in total. In
early November PP Dave Jones will travel to
Cambodia to view the demining operation, and to meet the
people who will be so positively affected by our
generosity. Pictured above with PP Dave is PP Georgiana
Roberts Ide, chair of the April event and collector of
pins for the children that Dave will meet on his journey
(your donation of a pin or two will be put to good use).
