No Dry Humor
This Friday

Head to The Roselawn
Restaurant in New York Mills this Friday as we honor
Utica Rotary's immediate Past President Jack
Altdoerffer. Utica Rotary's Past Presidents have
arranged a summer picnic beginning at noon in the
outdoor pavilion at the Roselawn. For a measley 10
bucks, you can dine on yummy summery outdoor fare.
Following lunch and our business meeting, IPP Jack will
receive his just desserts.
Outdoor summer attire is
encouraged, and guests are welcome. If you're not
at The Roselawn at noon on Friday, you're all wet!

Raise a
Racket With Rotary
The start of
the Rotary Tennis season for 2007-08 is less than a
month away, and the league is looking to expand.
Please contact league president PP Gib Jones, or
league VP For Life Fran Pugliese if you are
interested in playing. All ability levels are
welcome. We play on Thursday nights from 7:00 pm to 8:30
pm at the Paragon Racquet Club. League members are
scheduled for a half to two thirds of the sessions, with
plenty of opportunities to sub if you want to play more.

Urban
Concerns Committee Needs Your Help
The third annual Run for
the Children Weekend will take place on September 8 and
9. Barry Depot of Wal-Mart (a good partner of the
Columbus School adoption project) has organized a
Miracle Mile Fun Run (sponsored by the Carbone Auto
Group) on Saturday, and certified 5K and 12K runs
(sponsored by Beacon Federal) on Sunday. Last year's
weekend raised more than $13,000 for the Children's
Miracle Network, and the goal is to top that in 2007.
Please see PP Dave Jones
or any Urban Concerns committee member if you would
like to volunteer as a course marshal, or help in any
other way.
