Linda, Randy
Join Utica Rotary
Now Four New Members Since July 1

In the first five weeks of
this new Rotary year, we have introduced four new
members to our club. The latest Utica Rotarians joined
last Friday.
Linda Peters was
presented by her sponsor, PP Georgiana Roberts Ide.
Linda is a lifelong resident of the Mohawk Valley, and,
now that her five grown children are taking less of her
time, she has decided that Rotary is an excellent way to
put her service energy to best use.
Professionally, Linda is
Broker Associate with Coldwell Banker Faith Properties
in Utica, where she has earned Diamond Society
distinction, and is a member of the Multi-Million Dollar
Club.
Dr. Randy Van Wagoner
comes to our area from Omaha, Nebrask
a,
and is the new president of Mohawk Valley Community
College. Randy, wife Jennifer and their
two daughters live in New Hartford, and are enjoying the
good life here in Central NY. Randy received a PhD. from
the University of Michigan, and prior to his stint in
Nebraska, worked at Red Rocks Community College in
Colorado. PP Mike Schafer sponsored Randy into
Utica Rotary, and made the introduction on Friday.
Please say hello to

internationality of Rotary first hand? Well, if
you live in the New Hartford School district, that
opportunity is here. Valentin is a young man from
Switzerland, and we need a host family for him for the
first 2-3 months of his stay, beginning in late August.

Governor
Marlene Outlines Ambitious Plan for Rotary Year
A former
Utica Rotarian, now District Governor of D7150, made her
official
visit
to our club last Friday, and told us of the difference
that our district has made in the world, and the great
opportunities and challenges ahead. "We have a
record to be proud of," said DG Marlene Brown.
Rotarians around the world will focus on completing the
Polio Eradication initiative, providing clean water to
those in need throughout the world, improving literacy,
and programs for youth. Closer to home, Marlene
encouraged our club to continue its recent turnaround in
membership, and continue reaching out to other Rotary
clubs and organizations in service partnerships.
Our Group
Study Exchange this year will be with District 3200 in
India. Click
