The Year Went
Swimmingly
Jack
Altdoerffer Touches the Wall This Friday
"Rotarians, get ready to
make the best Rotary club even better..." These words
signaled
the wrapup of each of our Friday meetings during this
past Rotary year, as our president challenged us to go
forth during the following week and do the good work of
Rotary. Under his leadership, Utica Rotary enjoyed one
of the most productive years in recent memory.
From our formal public relations campaign, to our net
growth in membership, to a highly successful water
project partnership, to the continuation of the Youth
Exchange Consortium, President Jack Altdoerffer
has shown us all how to Lead The Way through Rotary
service.
Come to Twin Ponds this
Friday as our outgoing President puts the finishing
touches on a year where the best Rotary club did get
even better!

Several
Summer Breakfast Volunteers Needed
PP Dave Jones is
filling the schedule for our participation in the Adrean
Terrace summer breakfast program. This program is
run by Catholic Charities and serves many of the
families of our adopted (and neighboring) Columbus
School. To date 29 Rotarians have volunteered for this
project (some multiple times), but there are many holes
in the calendar. We need your help from 8:00 to 9:00 am
during the month of July. Please click on the link
above (under In This Issue:) to view the opportunities
for service.

Mitzi Reul,
Paul Harris Fellow
Utica Rotary's newest Paul
Harris Fellow is Mitzi Reul.
Mitzi joined us in 1997
(when she was but a teen), having come to us from a
quaint little club downstate, the Manhattan Rotary Club.
Since her arrival, Mitzi has been a major contributor to
t
he
success of Utica Rotary. She has been a tireless
volunteer in our youth programs, chairing our Youth
Services Committee and spending much time with our youth
exchange students (even taking them on personally guided
tours of New York City). Mitzi also has hosted Group
Study Exchange visitors, and was selected to lead a GSE
group to Taiwan. She and husband Carter have been
mainstays on Utica Rotary's championship golf team,
multiple winners of the annual District 7150 Literacy
Golf Tournament.
Mitzi is a Rotary
Foundation Benefactor, has served on the district
conference committee, has been a Friday Committee
volunteer...... her service to Rotary just keeps going!
Congratulations, Mitzi, on
this recognition well earned.
